Our Global Conscience

As private company, the “entrepreneurial spirit” is a driving factor within the hearts and minds of SDP personnel. Understanding however that we are also part of a much large social order, our actions must also take into consideration the world around us. From an environmental perspective, we strive towards a “green” future for our grandchildren by ensuring that our production facilities are certified ISO 14001-2004 standards, and seeking reductions in waste through continuous improvement initiatives and recycling of materials.

A far less obvious and more immediate initiative is our support of children in underdeveloped areas of the world through Plan International Canada Inc. (formerly Foster Parents Plan). Today management and staff of SDP support 54 children spread throughout 14 countries. Touching different corners of the world including Colombia, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Nepal, Peru and Senegal, SDP strives to assist against the social injustices placed upon children in developing areas. We have chosen to “give back” to those who cannot speak for themselves, and encourage any who read this page to investigate the Plan program and the cause they represent. (plancanada.ca)
